Colle Val d’Elsa

Colle di Val d’Elsa is a Tuscan town located between Siena and Florence, known as the “City of Crystal” for its historic glassmaking tradition, which remains a mark of artisanal excellence today.
The historic center, Colle Alta, sits on a ridge and preserves its medieval charm with ancient walls, stone alleys, and noble palaces. The lower part of the town hosts workshops and production sites dedicated to crystal craftsmanship. Colle di Val d’Elsa is also the birthplace of Arnolfo di Cambio, a prominent medieval architect.

Where the work was born

The virtual reality artwork was created inside the San Pietro Museum, a museum complex housed in a former convent that preserves sacred artworks and a section dedicated to the town’s history. The museum’s rooms, with their frescoed vaults and soft lighting, provided an ideal setting for the production, blending contemporary art with historical heritage.
